BC Cannabis Wholesale resuming operations – important details for customers

October 27, 2025

As announced October 26, the BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) has reached a tentative agreement, meaning that the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) will resume BC Cannabis Wholesale operations as of Monday, October 27 following the conclusion of strike action. Please see below for important information for wholesale customers as we work to resume operations as efficiently as possible.

Orders received before September 22

Richmond Distribution Centre (RDC) will focus first on fulfilling and shipping customer orders that were received before September 22, prior to strike action temporarily halting operations. Please remember that any orders placed between September 22 and the end of the strike action on Monday, October 27, prior to 8:30 a.m. have been (or will be) cancelled, and will need to be re-placed (as previous communicated).

News orders and adjustments to order cut-off deadlines

Customers are invited to submit new orders as of 8:30 a.m. today, October 27. Orders will be picked and shipped according to customer order cut-off deadlines. RDC is resuming operations today and is working overtime (including weekends) in an effort to manage high volumes and deliver orders to customers as quickly as possible.

Please note the following important details on order cut-offs:

  • Customers with an order cut-off on Monday, October 27, will maintain their regular order cut off time of 11:59 p.m.

  • Customers with Sunday order cut-offs will have their cut-off deadline moved to Friday at 11:59 a.m. (noon) until we return to normal service.

  • Customers with Thursday order cut-offs will have their cut-off deadline moved to Thursday at 11.59 a.m. (noon) until we return to normal service levels.

  • All other order cut-off deadlines remain the same unless otherwise notified.

Impacts on delivery timing

We kindly ask that customers remain flexible to receive deliveries that may not be aligned with their regular delivery day, particularly as we work through higher-than-normal order volume, which may cause delays

That said, we are working with carriers to ship orders as soon as they are ready, meaning that in some cases your order may arrive ahead of schedule. Please ensure you have sufficient funds to cover orders that may process and ship a day earlier than normal. You will continue to receive automated shipping confirmation notifications once your order has shipped from RDC.

We will ensure that deliveries do not arrive outside of the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Additional items of note:

  • Quantity limits: In order to ensure equitable access to high-demand products, we will be implementing a temporary 20 case quantity limit on a range of high velocity products. These products are listed on the Product Quantity Limits collection on the BC Cannabis Wholesale website. These limits will be removed in due course.

  • Order size considerations: Orders containing more than 200 different SKUs may trigger a system error preventing order completion. We strongly encourage selecting less than 200 different SKUs per individual order.

  • Emergency orders: We will not be able to accommodate emergency orders or changes to existing orders until further notice.

  • Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs): Please be advised that it will take some time before RMAs are reviewed and processed. Customers that have submitted a return request will be contacted once resources are available.

  • Support Ticket Portal and Customer Care Centre (CCC) backlogs: CCC will typically respond to voicemails, emails, and support ticket requests in the order they were received, while making efforts to triage and prioritize high-priority and urgent requests. Due to the backlog of requests, it will take longer than usual to respond to you, and we apologize in advance for the delay.

We greatly appreciate your continued patience and understanding as it will take time for our operations and service levels to return to normal. We are working closely with our carriers to allocate additional resources to support our resumption of operations.
